Library Instruction Schedule Instruction -- online form During the first two to four weeks of a semester classes should be scheduled as soon as possible since this is a busy time for library instruction and only one class can be scheduled per time slot.In order to provide a positive environment for student success please note the following: Collaboration between the course instructors and librarians prior to a class ensures that the instruction provided is appropriate for the assignment and that pertinent library materials are available. An extensive variety of sources are available in the library. In order to cover research strategies and processes as well as the evaluation of materials, instructors are encouraged to consider scheduling more than one class meeting. Attendance of the class instructor is both welcomed and encouraged. Your presence and participation during the class can aid successful student learning. Your absence often communicates to students that library instruction is not important. Arriving on time is not only a courtesy to the library instructor, it is often necessary to ensure proper coverage of the material. Reference librarians appreciate advance notification (x7711) when you plan to bring your class to the library for research. This helps avoid conflicts with scheduled classes as well as ensures that the needed materials are accessible. |
