How to find Books
"Dixie Cat" is the library's online catalog for finding books. If you are not familiar
with the online catalog, ask a Reference librarian for help. Search by author, title,
keyword or subject. A "general keyword" search will usually locate
some books on your topic. Check the subjects listed in the record and do
"subject keyword" or "subject browse" searches on these topics for
more titles.
Books on the main floor of the library are classified using the
Library of Congress call numbers.
Books found on the second floor of the library are classified using the
Dewey Decimal call numbers. Ask a librarian if you are having difficulty locating a book.
Other Ways of Finding Books
Books in other libraries may be located using the Utah
Library Network. Click on "Libraries and Library Catalogs". You
can order these books through Interlibrary loan. There is usually a seven to fourteen day
turnaround time for these requests, so plan ahead. Forms are available at the Circulation
Desk.
The
Books in Print database is also available in the library. It is accessed under
"Research Links" on the library home page. If these titles are not
available in the library, they may also be ordered through Interlibrary loan.
