    Interlibrary Loan Policy

    Definition:

    • Interlibrary loan is the process of borrowing materials by mail or electronic delivery from other libraries when a book or article is not available in our print or electronic library collections.

    Policies:

    • Current Dixie State College students, faculty and staff are eligible for interlibrary loan services.
    • If libraries outside of Utah charge a fee for each transaction, the charge may be passed on to the patron.
    • All ILL requests should be submitted online through ILLiad, our online interlibrary loan management system.  If assistance is needed, patrons should be referred to the reference librarian on duty.  If further help is needed, an ILL staff member should be contacted.
    • Patrons must provide a current and valid email address for notification and communication purposes.  All interlibrary loan notifications will be sent to the patron via email.
    • ILL books are picked up at the library circulation desk.  Borrowers must present a current DSC ID card.
    • Patrons are responsible for returning items on time, fines accrued from the lending libraries, and fees for lost or damaged items.
    • The library reserves the right to limit ILL requests from any one individual during a given period of time.)
    • ILL services can be refused to anyone who abuses the privilege, i.e., books consistently returned late, damaged books, fees not paid, etc.
    • All ILL borrowing requests will be subject to copyright restrictions.
