Position Description for
Adjunct Faculty / Information Literacy (LIB 1010)
General Statement of Duties:
Adjunct faculty for the Information Literacy course (LIB 1010) will
teach one or more online sections of 1 credit each. All course curricula,
assignments, and assessments are accessed through WebCT courseware.
Adjunct instructors must have Master of Library Science degree or equivalent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assigns pass/fail grades to students in accordance with course guidelines.
- Communicates as needed with students via email and course discussion
forums.
- Monitors students' progress in section(s).
- Attends training meetings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of the current principles and practices of
library science in an academic setting.
- Conversant with current library applications, including library catalogs,
electronic databases, and Internet services.
- Proficient and comfortable with email.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
