Circulation
Policies – updated I.
GENERAL POLICIES A. VBL does not offer
business, corporate, or organizational privileges. B. Borrowers are responsible
for all items charged on their accounts as well as reporting any change in
name, address, email, or phone number. C. Lost or stolen cards should
be reported to the Circulation Desk. D. Certain items, including those
in Reference, Special Collections, and Periodicals, do not circulate. E. Courtesy overdue notices
will be sent by email only. It is the borrower's responsibility to
promptly return items to the library. F. Fines are a non-refundable
amount charged as a penalty for not returning checked out library materials by
the due date.

Collection - $.25/day; $10.00 maximum per item
ii.
Course Reserve -
$.25/hour or $1.00/day depending on check out period; $10.00 maximum per item G. Fees are a non-refundable
amount charged for loss or damage to library materials.

Patron is
responsible for the cost of any item lost or damaged
ii.
Amount charged
may be the replacement cost, original cost, or cost of repair, at the library’s
discretion
iii.
A mandatory
$10.00 processing fee is added to the cost for all lost or damaged items
iv.
Costs are
non-negotiable and are determined by the library acquisitions and/or book
repair departments
v.
The library does
not accept replacement of a lost or damaged item with a similar copy H. Collections: Fines and fees not resolved in the I. Items
may not be renewed once they are overdue.
Items may be renewed one time before the original due date. Reserve items may not be renewed.

Renewal period is one-half the
original check out period

Renewals may be done online, in
person, or by telephone

Renewals may be denied if an item has
been requested by another patron
iv.
At the end of the renewal period, an
item must be returned to the library

A new check out is possible at that

DSC
BORROWERS A.
Student
- a person enrolled in classes at Dixie State College for credit, full
or part-time. Students must present their
college I.D. with the current semester sticker.
Students registered for 3 credits or less must present picture ID and a
copy of their schedule.
