Dixie finding aids and collections
External collections & groups
The Special Collections/Archives Collection contains selected local, family, and historical materials about the geographically contiguous areas of Utah’s Dixie, the Arizona Strip, and the Big Muddy region of Nevada, as well as materials documenting the history of Dixie State College of Utah. The collection may contain materials or ephemera that are out-of-print, need special handling, or that may be irreplaceable, fragile, rare, etc.
Materials in Special Collections are cataloged, have call numbers, and can be located using the library’s online catalog. Materials designated for the Archives Collection are usually not cataloged and must be accessed with staff assistance and through printed finding aids available in the Reading Room.
Special Collections materials may not be checked out and must be used under supervision in the Special Collections Reading Room.
Monday-Friday 9 AM-12 PM and 1 PM-4 PM* or by appointment.
*Note: Hours are subject to staff availability. Special Collections will be closed during state-recognized holidays. It is preferred that an appointment be made to ensure access at your convenience, especially if you are traveling. Please make an appointment if you are traveling from outside Washington County.
To make an appointment, please contact Glen Harris, the Special Collections Paraprofessional, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (435) 634-2087.
